SPLIT · halves separate at the will of the wielder, forming twin shortswords or, at full extension, sacred whips of seven meters.
Inscribed in the Registry of the High Council under Custodia Perpetua. Reverts to the Order upon the wielder's [REDACTED].
A two-handed greatsword whose blade parts cleanly into two matching halves at the will of the wielder. Each half retains balance about its own midpoint, allowing the weapon to be carried as a single longsword, twin shortswords, or (at full extension) twin sacred metal whips of seven meters' reach.
At the base of the blade sits a small aetherite crystal lens. When the dorsal switch is engaged, the lens releases the stored storm-aspected aether as sacred lightning along the blade for the duration of two turns.
Of unrecorded origin. The forge mark predates the founding of the Order; the Registry attributes the weapon's provenance to «before number». The weapon's association with Paladin #3113 predates Registry documentation; formal attribution to its current bearer was recorded in the aftermath of incident INVECO-002-V.
The blade parts at its midline; each half extends to a maximum reach of seven meters in the direction of the cut, behaving as twin whips of sacred metal. A successful catch on a limb pins the limb for two turns; attempting to break free during those two turns inflicts laceration along the trapped edge. Any Undead struck by the extended blade suffers a one-rank endurance debuff from contact with sacred metal.
Pressing the dorsal switch on either grip (split or unified) discharges the storm-aspected aether stored in the pommel aetherite crystal along the blades. The blades remain electrified for two turns, transferring the discharge to any target the steel touches. The shock applies a one-turn speed debuff to standard targets. Undead are paralyzed outright for one turn following the strike.
