Paladin Germain, assigned to regional purification operations under Custodia Perpetua. Field assessments note a consistent pattern of early engagement, advancing ahead of issued orders and maintaining presence well beyond the last confirmed neutralization. Squadron morale assessments are, without recorded exception, elevated at the close of any operation in which he participates. The alias «Le Calme» predates anyone in this section having met him in the field. Master-apprentice bond (recorded) with Paladin #717.
II.RHODES ISLAND ADDENDUM · CURRENT STATUS· supersedes all standing claims of the original file

The pages of this file are preserved as received (see Provenance) and speak in the voice of the institution that wrote them. That institution no longer exists. The reader is advised that every assignment, duty, and standing described by the original authors is terminated, including the containment duty named in the history below; no ongoing tie remains.

Current status: Germain, Rhodes Island operator, frontline. Formerly a Sentinel of the order that raised him; he discovered what that order was, defected, and was excommunicated as a traitor in absentia shortly before the order's collapse. He arrived at Rhodes Island infected, never once treated, and out of employment in the specific way of a man whose entire world has burned down. He was taken in for treatment, and kept for everything else. Field assessments suggest the old habits survived intact: first through the door, last off the field, morale higher for his being there.

III.PROVENANCE OF THIS FILE· Rhodes Island HR · note to all readers

This file did not originate with Rhodes Island. It arrived with the operator: one enormous binder, easily a third of his luggage, carried under one arm into his intake interview and set down on the desk like a court exhibit. It contains, as far as anyone can establish, every record of himself he was able to take with him. It is the only personal documentation he owns, and he is oddly protective of it for a man who says the institution that wrote it never told him a true thing in his life.

Asked for his papers, he pushed the whole binder across the desk and told Human Resources to keep whatever proved useful. The assessment was straightforward: whatever else may be said of that institution, its record-keeping was meticulous, and rebuilding decades of documentation from interviews would occupy a working group for the better part of a year. The decision was made to adopt the binder as the operator's base file and amend it in place, page by page, as Rhodes Island verifies, corrects, or overrules what its original authors wrote.

A note in the operator's own hand was found clipped inside the front cover: "They wrote all of it down and never read any of it. Somebody should."

IV.ABRIDGED HISTORY

Taken in as a child, ten years old at most, following the   incident. Recovered by Paladin #717, the last name found alive across three days of searching. Fourteen days later his name appeared in the ward registry of the Order; the novitiate followed as soon as he was old enough to swear.

Co-author and co-operation lead of incident INVECO-002-V alongside Paladin #3666. The body of that incident report is   from cover to cover by order of the High Council; only the conclusions and his signature remain.

Maintains weekly canalizations at the Containment Facility known as «The Resting Voice», assisting Paladin #717 in keeping the slumbering creature anchored. No mental anomaly recorded to date.

«Le Calme»: factually inconsistent with all observed field behavior. Alias origin unverified. Source of this designation has not met him. — L. #88
